Ramat Gan rhino has eye infection solved by innovative keeper
Tanda the rhino of Ramat Gan safari park, Israel, had an unusual and long standing problem.
For 14 years Tanda the rhino suffered from chronic eye infection countless vets tried to solve the problem to no avail.
Lately it was found that a parasite causes the infection and the countless flies make it impossible for the inflamation to heal.
Keeper Neta Guetta decided to sew a mask with a fine net over the eyeholes for Tandra and that seems to have solved the problem.
It took Tandra some time to get used to wearing the mask but now she parades in it all day long.
