Record attendance at UK Chabad rabbis conference

Jewish outreach group hosts 92 delegates at two-day event in village of Market Bosworth, as growth of the organisation is heralded as ' inspiring and invigorating'

Almost 100 Chabad rabbis from across the UK came together in the picturesque village of Market Bosworth for a two-day conference last week.

The record 92 delegates attended the UK National Conference of Chabad Lubavitch Rabbis, where they took part in 22 lectures and workshops about modern Jewish life.

Topics covered in sessions at the conference, held at Bosworth Hall Hotel, ranged from adult education and financial planning, to working with young people and personal safety awareness.

Attendants heard from speakers including Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky from the organisation’s World Headquarters, Rabbi Naftali Silberberg, Editor in Chief of the Jewish Learning Institute, and Rabbi Shimon Rivkin, Executive Director of Cteens, serving Chabad’s teenage clubs.

The Jewish outreach group, which has grown In the UK from a single office in London in 1958 to more than 127 rabbis across the country, has more than 4,000 Chabad offices around the world.

Speaking about the organisation’s progress in Britain, Rabbi Bentzi Sudak, CEO of Chabad Lubavitch UK said that “the immense growth of Chabad Lubavitch UK in both numbers of personnel and reach of each individual centre is inspiring and invigorating.

“This is a testament to the vibrant Jewish community here in the UK and to the relevant and cutting-edge programming we make available to Jews of all walks of life.”

Rabbi Yehuda Pink, Chair of the Conference Committee paid tribute to the “months of effort and time expended by the members of the organising committee who have established the conference as a central platform for learning and growth.”
