Richard Tice claims more than one in five members of Parliament are antisemitic

Richard Tice has claimed that more than one in five members of the British Parliament are antisemitic.
The man who hopes to be Britain’s deputy prime minister within four years made the extraordinary claim on the back of a YouGov poll for Campaign Against Antisemitism suggesting 21 percent of British adults believe in at least four antisemitic tropes. That figure represents a near doubling in five years.
Looking at the Palace of Westminster during his address to CAA’s rally against antisemitism this afternoon, Reform UK’s deputy leader said: “Let me tell you the percentage of antisemites in that place is way higher than 21 percent and it’s shameful. I have to tell you the hardest thing to do is to see and hear that antisemitism comes from all parts of the House of Commons.” He didn’t offer any more detail on the claim.
He accused the Government of an “abdication of leadership” over its move to recognise a Palestinian state this month and insisted there wouldn’t have been such a steep rise in Jew-hate if pro-Palestinian marches had been banned from the start.
He told up to 15,000 protesters: “The sad truth is we shouldn’t need to be here at all. I feel embarrassed and I want to apologise we are where we are. It’s so humbling to see the flag of Israel alongside the Union flag – it’s a great sight.
“We’ve seen a failure of leadership from this government that has imposed sanctions. It’s been wrong at every level . I stood up and thanked israel and the US for damaging nuclear facilities in Iran. You can’t be so weak and wet to say we don’t want nuclear weapons but refuse to thank Israel for doing doing what they did.”
Suggesting politicians had been “captured” by the UN and some diplomats, he said a Reform government would proscribe both the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and the Muslim Brotherhood.
