Rockets fired over Pesach
Seven rockets fired at southern Israel from the Gaza Strip over Pesach met with an Israeli response this week, wounding two Hamas security officers and prompting a defiant tone from Benjamin Netanyahu.
“On our holiday, our enemies fired missiles at our communities,” said the Israeli prime minister.
“Our policy is clear – to respond quickly and strongly. We strike at whoever comes to attack us.”
The exchange of fire came as violence erupted in the Old City of Jerusalem and in the West Bank, with tensions rising as Washington struggles to salvage peace talks before a deadline next Tuesday.
