Rishi Sunak’s wife has welcomed children, including a group from Rosh Pinah Primary School, for a writing workshop at 10 Downing Street.

Five children from Year 6 were selected by the Edgware school to take part in “Lessons at 10″ alongside pupils from two other schools.

The initiative, which was launched earlier this year, was set up by Akshata Murty with the aim of providing children with the unique opportunity to experience what goes on behind the scenes of the famous black door of 10 Downing Street.

Each weekly session is open to schools from across the country, with the help of special guests, industry experts and charitable organisations.

Special guests included Nick Goldsmith and Ed Swift from a creative writing charity called ‘The Bank of Dreams & Nightmares’.

Posting afterwards on Instagram, Akshata Murty wrote: “Wonderful to welcome schools this morning for the first session of the new term.

“The team from the @thebankofdreamsandnightmares got our literary juices flowing in one of their dynamic creative writing and reading workshops.”
