Shul to hold virtual New Year’s Eve ‘party’ with live music
South Hampstead Synagogue will feature entertainment from the Lev Levin Ensemble and play music from the 60s to the 80s
South Hampstead Synagogue is offering an enjoyable idea to mark 2021 — a virtual New Year’s Eve “party” with live music from the 60s to the 80s, as well as jazz and popular Israeli numbers, courtesy of the Lev Levin Ensemble.
The group has already made a successful video celebrating a synagogue member’s 80th birthday with people participating by Zoom from their homes.
South Hampstead’s Rabbi Eli Levin says: “As a synagogue community, we normally take-care of Rosh Hashana and leave the New Year’s Eve parties to others. However, this year it feels different. To lift the gloom of everyone staying at home, we are hosting a spectacular interactive lounge party” — and the bonus is that everyone can have a l’chaim at midnight without having to worry about driving home.
Cost is just £20 per household and applications should be made directly to the synagogue — office@southhampstead.org — for registration.
