Simon Brodkin headlines The Big Jewish Comedy Gala to raise funds for CST
Event at Theatre Royal Haymarket on 11 January will celebrate Jewish comedians
The tragic events in Sydney on the first day of Chanukah highlight the need for Jewish communities to be protected by effective security. And here in the UK many Jewish communities are supported by the vital work of the Community Security Trust (CST).
In January a group of talented Jewish comedians are coming together to support the CST for The Big Jewish Comedy Gala at the London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket on Sunday 11 January 2026, an evening celebrating leading Jewish comedians, following a series of high-profile cancellations on the UK comedy circuit and the wider entertainment and the boycott of Jewish performers.
Headlining the event is Simon Brodkin (Sunday Night at The Palladium, The John Bishop Show), with support from Sara Barron (Live at the Apollo, Would I Lie To You), Olivia Lee (The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Balls of Steel), Bennett Arron (The Kosher Comedian, Alone), and Rachel Creeger (Sunday Morning Live, Hapless). Compering the show will be the 2015 Jewish Comedian of the Year, Philip Simon (My Family, Muppets Most Wanted).
Danny Cohen, President of Access Entertainment says: “Access Entertainment and the Theatre Royal Haymarket is proud to be hosting this special night of Jewish comedy. We stand against antisemitism in all its forms and the boycotting of Jewish and Israeli artists.”
Philip Simon says: “Having gone through the most horrendous experience with two Edinburgh Free Fringe venues cancelling my shows in August 2025 simply due to my Jewish heritage, to know there is still so much support within our industry means a great deal.”
Rachel Creeger says: “Following a very challenging time for many of us, to have a venue with the prestigious pedigree of the Theatre Royal Haymarket proudly stand by us as Jewish entertainers is hugely validating.”
