Sisters raise over £1,000 for children’s hospice through online tie dye store
'We can’t believe how much it’s raised. It’s exceeded our wildest expectations'
Two sisters from Cockfosters have raised more than £1,000 for their local children’s hospice through their online tie dye business.
Claudia and Natalie Sternberg have sold more than 200 items of clothing to customers in Israel, Canada, France and Ireland since launching Colour Blast in March exclusively to raise funds for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.
The items are marketed on Instagram and the social shopping app Depop and take a couple of days to create.
The two sisters’ creations have been donned by the former Love Island contestant Biggs Chris and the Made In Chelsea star Verity Bowditch.
Claudia said: “We really wanted to do something to help a local charity. When you think of an ill child, it’s heart-breaking. They’re deprived of a true childhood. We just wanted to do whatever we could to help and this has been a fun way to do it.”
Natalie said: “We can’t believe how much it’s raised. It’s exceeded our wildest expectations. We’re so pleased that this money is going to be going to such a worthwhile charity.”
Alison Goodman, director of income generation at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, said: “These two passionate young women have just taken their brilliant idea and run with it. To raise so much, so quickly, for a local charity is an outstanding achievement. We’re so proud of what they’re doing to help local seriously unwell children”.
