Six communal organisations apply to join the Board of Deputies
Groups seeking to join the community's representative body include the Jewish Vegetarian Society, Mitzvah Day, mental health charity JAMI and the London Jewish Forum
Six communal organisations have applied to join the Board of Deputies ahead of the Board’s May triennial elections.
The six are the Jewish Vegetarian Society, the Jewish Friendship Society of Manchester, Mitzvah Day, JAMI (the community mental health charity), Maccabi and the London Jewish Forum.
Board of Deputies Treasurer Stuart MacDonald said: “We do not comment on individual organisations’ contributions to the Board. We are grateful to the many synagogues that place the Communal Contribution on their annual bills, which allows members to make a significant voluntary contribution to the Board’s revenues. This support enables us to maintain and extend the Board’s vital work as the Community’s representative organisation.”
