‘Small but mighty’: Divorce-support charity raises £400k in 36-hour campaign
Our Kids First smashes target with 4,000+ donors backing vital child-focused work
A small British charity supporting children through divorce has raised more than £400,000 in just 36 hours – in a crowdfunding effort organisers hailed as a “remarkable show of community spirit”.
Our Kids First, founded to help children navigate the emotional toll of family breakdown, surpassed expectations during its second-ever fundraising campaign, drawing support from over 4,000 individual donors and more than 200 fundraising teams.
Co-founder Billy Katz said: “This campaign was a true testament to what can be achieved when a community believes in a cause. We’re incredibly grateful to every team member and donor who helped make this happen.”
The funds, raised in record time, will help the charity expand its outreach, support services, and resources for children and families across the UK.
Founded just a few years ago, Our Kids First has grown rapidly in reputation despite its small size. It works with parents, schools, and professionals to reduce the emotional impact of divorce on young people.
Organisers said they were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm shown by volunteers, who mobilised friends, families and networks to give generously.
“These funds will allow us to expand our vital services and reach even more children in need,” Katz added.
The charity’s rapid rise and growing base of supporters point to a strong demand for its services and a groundswell of communal backing for its mission.
