Sprinter Sanford qualifies for semis at Euro Champs
Donald Sanford qualified for the semi-finals of the men’s 400m at the European Athletic Championships on Tuesday afternoon.
The 27-year-old, running in Heat 4 of the qualifiers, finished in a time of 46.18, which was enough to guarantee him a place in Wednesday’s semi-final.
There wasn’t such good news for Noam Ne’eman earlier in the day, after he failed to qualify from his heat in the 3,000m steeplechase, finishing in a time of 8:45.33.
Other Israeli interest at the tournament in Zurich, which began today and runs until Sunday, sees Himro Alame and Girmow Amare run in the 10,000m, Amir Ramon, Berihun Wuve and Zohar Zimro take part in the Marathon, while in the women’s competitions, Maayan Shahaf competes in the High Jump, while Hanna Knyazyeva will be participating in the Triple Jump.
