Glenthorne A closed in on the Division Two league title, while there was a Norstar inter-club derby in the new MMFL-MGBSFL Cup, writes Jeremy Silverstone.

Glenthorne A are odds-on to win the title after brushing away the challenge from leaders London Maccabi Lions, with Sid Shaw, Jason Levy and Gary Adams earning them a 3-0 win that leaves them just one point adrift of Lions but with three games
in hand – against the bottom three teams.

In the continuing group stages, Norstar London Raiders B saw off the challenge from North London Raiders Masters with a 5-3 win, courtesy of two goals each from Jonny Blain and Nicky Woolf, along with Adam Posner’s strike. Tony Plaskow’s double and Ben Novick’s strike replied for the Masters’ team.
