AC Mill Hill gave as good as they got against a team who play two divisions above them in the table, only to be denied by a last-minute goal.
Guy Marks scored twice, with David Kanzen also on target. Joint-player-manager Nick Kagan told jewishnews.co.uk: “From what I hear was a poor display in worse conditions, at least we scraped through and our romance with the cup continues!
“Back to the important stuff this weekend, we absolutely have to raise our game.”
Ben Zloof and Ben Grabiner scored for Mill Hill, for whom player-manager Joe Levy told jewishnews.co.uk: “We started the game brightly and looked comfortable on the ball. Zloof latched on to a great through ball from Horwitz and deservedly put us ahead.
“Camden got into the game and started showing true quality. We conceded two quick goals and went in 2-1 down, but knew we were still in it and started the second half as we begun the game.
“Ben Grabiner powered in a bullet header at the back post to make it 2-2 after some inspired set piece training during the week, and both teams had chances at 2-2. It really could have gone either way and it was Camden who nicked a last minute goal.
“Full credit to Camden. They are a great team and are a pleasure to watch. Jake Saunders in the middle is superb and is definitely one to keep an eye on.
“I am absolutely gutted we are out but cannot fault the desire and commitment of any of my players. Hopefully we keep this level of performance going for the rest of the season.”

Norstar kept alive their treble hopes, though only after they were given a stern test from their lower league opposition.
Goals from Josh Morris, Josh Pistol, Zak McLeod and Matt Stock, eventually saw them comfortably through.
Blancos manager Joel Minsky told jewishnews.co.uk: “We were expecting a leveller with the game due to be played at the boggy uneven Montrose Park, but unfortunately this was not to be due to an unplayable pitch and the game was rescheduled for the 3G over at Brunel University.
“Their class eventually told, but the game was delicately poised at 1-1 with 30 minutes to go when Jono Gaon added another wonder goal to his tally to equalise.
“As expected, for large spells, the game was as good as attack versus defence, but we did so resolutely against a team looking like they’ll win the Premier Division at a canter. And if it wasn’t for two sloppily conceded goals from set-pieces there would have been a lot to play for as the game entered its closing stages.”

Lions claimed a vital point in their battle to avoid the drop, while the two dropped points denied Faithfold the chance to go second in the table. Joe Lazare scored for the Lions, though it was James Gold who did all the hard work in setting him up.
Lions player-manager Jamie Kyte told jewishnews.co.uk: “A massive point for us today and I’m very proud of the team’s performance. Today we showed that if we play to our potential and we have a bit of luck on our side, we can get points against any team in the league.”
Johnny Haik scored for Faithfold, for whom player-manager Zuriel Solomon told jewishnews.co.uk: “Another disappointing result, we just can’t seem able to get a win. It was another game we dominated but just could not find the net. Lions were lucky the weather was awful and we left our shooting boots at home.
“Saying that our luck will change and when it does we will be able to put a good run together.”

Brady failed to clear the gap on the top two sides as not even a hat-trick from Josh Newman was enough to see them beat SPEC.
Dan Pike, Laurence Rosenthal and Dan Amram’s penalty ensured SPEC came away with a point, with manager Ricky Lawrence telling jewishnews.co.uk: “It was a well contested game and although Brady were probably the better side, having been ahead three times, once with just six minutes to go, we should have held on.”

Bobby Abrams and Jonny Harris scored for Haroldeans, with manager Jonathan Abrams telling jewishnews.co.uk: “We deserved the win and at 2-1, thought we had done enough when with 15 minutes left on the clock. Bobby Abrams then scored a third which was disallowed after a delayed offside decision was given.

Bottom side Fortune sprung the surprise of the day as they shocked Jewdinese – denying them joint-top spot in the process.
The victory was Fortune’s first since they beat AC Whetstone back in September, and ended a run of 11 games without a victory. Michael Goldberg, Nicky Stone and Zack Rich scored for the visitors, with manager Jonathan Cohen saying: “Firstly I would like to state that morale in the squad has been largely good throughout the season and we have done our best not to listen or take too much note of what other people have had to say about us. We know more about us than anyone else.
“On a very difficult pitch and in very tough conditions, I thought we were well worth the points this week and I think if you ask the ‘Nese team, I think they will agree. Jewdinese had the majority of the ball in the first half they didn’t really do enough with it, and we although we might have gone in at half time at more than 1-0 down we wouldn’t have deserved that.
“We made a couple of tactical changes at half-time and our shape, positioning and application were excellent, and without getting carried away we dominated the half and could have won by more in the end. Since the start of 2014 we have significantly improved at the back from open play and knew that a performance like that was just around the corner, but we are under no illusion, we must replicate performances like again and do so for 90 minutes.
“For now we are delighted with the victory and we will enjoy it all week long, and prepare for the return fixture next weekend.”

Hendon’s disappointing start to 2014 continued as L’equipe edged a scrappy encounter played in horrible conditions as Daniel Cordell’s side moved up into fifth spot, thanks to goals from Richard Fogelman and Richard Alexander.
Cordell told jewishnews.co.uk: “Onwards as upwards and a great start to 2014 given we haven’t had a game in over four weeks.”
Hendon’s player-manager Adam Glekin told jewishnews.co.uk: “There wasn’t much between the sides, it was a game of few chances. We gifted them two goals in the first half with sloppy pieces of play, and although we toiled away in the second half, we looked like we could play for the next week and not score. Our season is in danger of petering out so it’s my job to ensure we take as many points as possible from our remaining fixtures.”
