Team MGB at 2015 Euro Games – Day 3 LIVE
Football, futsal and tennis are all on the agenda on the first day of competitive action in Berlin – which has seen the men’s futsal team beat France 13-1, the open football team draw 2-2 against the French, while the masters futsal side were beaten 6-2 by Spain.

FUTSAL – OPEN MEN’S GROUP C RESULT

First in competitive action for Team GB was Andy Landesberg’s team, and they had no problem overcoming their French opposition, romping home to a 13-1 win. Alfie Brooks and Russell Goldstein scored four goals each, Charlie Kasler bagged a double, with Charlie Hyman, Liron Mannie and Jonathan Kurrant also all on target.

Jordan Nathan had fired GB into a tenth minute lead, though they found themselves trailing 2-1 at the break. However, they were to deservedly earn a point a Alex Moss leveled five minutes into the second half, leaving manager Jonny Rose to reflect on a satisfactory performance. He said: “We conceded the second goal at the worst possible time, just before the break, but had a word with the players at the break, went again, and once we equalised, dominated proceedings.
“I was really pleased with our performance, it was a strong one, played by what is a young team. This team will get stronger as the tournament goes on, and we’re looking forward to Italy tomorrow.”

TENNIS – OPEN MASTERS
(08.00-17.00)
Isaac Segalov lost his first match, 6-1, 7-5.
Whilst the open and masters athletes were either training or competing in their opening events, the junior members took part in their last day of pre-camp s they visited the Nazi Concentration Camp, Camp Sachsenhausen. Whilst there the delegates took part in a number of programmes which focused on the Holocaust as well as taking in a tour of the sight. They also met a Holocuast survivor. The whole trip was incredibly powerful and one which the athletes will take back home to remember after their time in Berlin.
The juniors then returned to the Olympic Park and, along with the rest of the squad, will begin their preparations for tonight’s Opening Ceremony at the Berlin Olympic Park Ampitheatre.
