Theresa May praises CST’s work countering anti-Semitism on campus
Prime Minister says government must work against hate to "stamp it out" during PMQs on Wednesday
The prime minister has praised the work of the CST in combating anti-Semitism on campus.
Speaking during Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday, Theresa May said the government must work against hate to “stamp it out”, with a focus on stopping racism against Jewish students.
The PM was asked what can be done to protect students “suffering from large amounts of anti-Semitism” by St Albans MP Anne Main.
In response, May said: “Sadly we do see people here suffering attacks particularly of anti-Semitism on our campuses.”
She added that: “The CST do a lot of work with students.. and I’m glad the government is supporting them.”
May also said the government is “supporting Muslim communities who are suffering from Islamaphobic”, and insisted that “there is no place for such hate in our society and we must all work to stamp it out”.
