If you were planning on reading J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter books during the lockdown, why not let Jewish actor Daniel Radcliffe do it for you?
The Hollywood star, 30, who shot to fame after being cast in the leading role at the age of 11, has narrated the first chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, in a video released today, available for free on Spotify.
He joins a star-studded cast of narrators, each to lend their voice to one of the iconic children’s book’s 17 chapters, including the Jewish author Stephen Fry, David Beckham and Fantastic Beasts actor Eddie Redmayne.
A new video will be published each week on the Harry Potter At Home website, an initiative launched by Rowling last month to support families and carers during school closures.
Since shooting the Harry Potter series, Radcliffe went on to appear both on stage and on-screen in indie projects such as The Woman In Black (2012) and Kill Your Darlings (2013).
