Third demo outside ‘Nazi’ clothes shop
A third protest has taken place outside a north London shop selling clothes favoured by neo-Nazis and those with far-right sympathies.
Many people passing by the protest, held outside Thor Steinar – Viking Thor Shop, in Ballards Lane, North Finchley, on Saturday and Sunday, signed a petition demanding the shop be closed down.
Protest organiser Gary McFarlane, of North London Unite Against Fascism, said: “Thor Steinar are trying to make fascism appear fashionable, but it’s an insidious way of spreading their poison.
They have become the leading outfitter to the far-right and are deliberately catering to that audience, so for the shop owner to tell us he isn’t aware of any of this is disingenuous, to put it mildly.”
The next step, he said, is to consolidate the petition and lobby local MP Mike Freer, to see what can be done to shut the shop.
