United Synagogue 70 for 70 project to mark Auschwitz liberation
The United Synagogue will mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz with a “global memorial programme” over 70 days.
Organisers of the project, which is called 70 for 70, have said it will “engage hundreds of thousands of people” in countries such as Australia, Canada, Israel, South Africa and the US.
United Synagogue’s Rabbi Andrew Shaw said: “Seventy years ago, a nation rose up to …destroy us. Seventy years on, we are gathering together to learn in memory of those who were murdered and to learn for our future.”
RLJS is the International President of the @70days70years project. A great initiative about Holocaust remembrance. Def worth following!
