VIDEO: How not to carry an injured footballer off the pitch!
A Second Division football match in Israel has been making headlines around the world after a slapstick moment saw an injured player being attempted to be stretched off the pitch by medical staff – only to be dumped back onto the pitch.
The game in question was between Maccabi Ahi Nazareth and Maccabi Herzliya, with the former’s Moamen Saleh needing medical attention. However, after physios finally managed to get the player onto the stretcher, after unsuccessfully being able to escort him off the pitch, he was then dumped to the ground. His captain was then forced to carry him over the touchline. At least his team won 1-0.
