VIDEO: Maureen Lipman accepts Beacon of Light award for Israel support
Maureen Lipman accepted a ‘Beacon of Light’ award from StandWithUS UK, for her outspoken support for Israel.
The grassroots pro-Israel organisation honoured the prominent Jewish actress for her long term support for Israel at a reception attended by over 250, on Thursday 30 May.
Lipman accepted the award, praising the organisation for teaching young people to ‘fight back with knowledge and information against prejudice in the form of protests.’
She said “We have to speak up on behalf of Israel. It’s all our futures.”
Lipman withdrew her long term support for the Labour Party in October 2014 as a result of the party’s stance on Israel, and Palestinian statehood.
