Voice of the Jewish News: Olim who help the Jewish state rise up

This week's editorial asks our readers to nominate British-born Israelis who shape the Jewish state, for our Aliyah list

Israeli and British flags

Have you had your say yet in our Aliyah List countdown, marking the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration? With the Jewish Agency and in partnership with UJIA, Jewish News invites readers to nominate and celebrate British immigrants who have made a positive impact on the Jewish state.

Our list of outstanding olim – to be revealed later this year – will shine a light on those who have overcome the cultural and practical challenges of moving to a new country to make their mark in areas from politics and business to education and entertainment. Each will have been motivated  by a multitude of reasons to make a new life in a country that goes to the very heart of their identity.

Many thousands of Brits have made the move – stoically suffering all the dodgy driving, relentless haggling and bemusing lack of orderly queues –
so will all be in contention for inclusion.

We invite you to nominate a British-born Israeli who is helping the Jewish state to rise up, before the 31 July deadline!
