Warner makes a splash at London Championships
Open water swimmer Adam Warner claimed one of the wins of his career on Sunday when he won the 3k race at London Region open water championships.
The race at Surrey Docks Watersports centre was preparation for this weekend’s British gas national open water championships in Sheffield, involved six laps of a 500m circuit, and saw him edge out a swimmer who will be representing GB at next month’s European Championships.
He said: “It’s an amazing feeling to beat a GB swimmer, as all the work was done by myself, with no one to help me out. But the main thing is it was great preparation for next weekend, when I’ll be competing against the fastest open water swimmers in Great Britain.”
