WATCH: Bibi’s #YomHaatzmaut message – ‘We’re no longer stateless & powerless’
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has released a video message in celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut.
Speaking from Jerusalem, Netanyahu called the 67th anniversary of the foundation of the state of Israel “a cause for genuine celebration”.
The PM said: “We celebrate that the Jewish people are no longer stateless and powerless, but are once again masters of our own fate.
“We celebrate the fact that Jews everywhere enjoy a right they were denied for so many centuries, the right to make aliya and be part of the modern State of Israel, and we can also celebrate Israel’s many achievements”.
He also praised Israel’s “dynamic hi-tech economy” and “robust and healthy democracy”.
