In second part of 'We Are Truthers' series, actor Marlon Solomons takes on three callers to his 'Truthers FM’ radio show in a bid to tackle harmful views surrounding the pandemic.
A comedian has taken aim at coronavirus conspiracy theories, in the latest of a series of videos of videos highlighting modern-day antisemitism.
Actor Marlon Solomons takes on three callers to his ‘Truthers FM’ radio show in a bid to debunk harmful and extremist views surrounding the pandemic.
As part of the ‘We Are Truthers’ series, the video has been created by the Antisemitism Policy Trust with support from the Community Security Trust. The content is produced by Kakaw Productions.
On the Conspiracy Callers website, launched with the video on Monday, it says: “Anti-Jewish racism adapts, like a virus, taking on new forms. It’s no surprise that the Covid pandemic gave rise to dangerous antisemitic conspiracy theories. Many of these have made their way across the internet, despite their origins in extremist spaces. They even get voiced in offline spaces.”
It is the second part of a series of six productions to challenge antisemitism on the cusp of conspiracy culture.
The first was a rap called ‘Joe and the Jews’ which was viewed more than 1.1million times on social media.
Antisemitism Policy Trust CEO Danny Stone MBE said: “We hope this new film will help to expose antisemitic COVID conspiracies as both dangerous and preposterous.”
