WATCH: Purim parody Esther’s A Jew inspired by Elle King’s Ex’s and Oh’s
A fun purim parody inspired by Elle King’s hit single, Ex’s and Oh’s, is set to take the internet by storm.
New York-based filmmaker Erez Cohen and Manhattan Jewish Experience, who previously teamed up for a Hannukah mash-up of One Direction songs, have again put their skills together for this very modern version of the Purim story.
Spoof lyrics include “Maybe Esther/instead of o-o-o old Vashti/Of them all I hope he wants me/He doesn’t kno-o-ow/He’s got no clue/Esther’s a Jew” and King Ahasuerus singing: “One, two three/The ladies come right to me/Cos I need me a woman and I got an open seat”.
Members of Cohen’s ensemble are decked out in their best party gear, with King Ahasuerus rocking a look that channels his inner-Elvis.
