WATCH: First look at Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black
A host of well-known faces star in eagerly-awaited movie about the singer
A biopic about Amy Winehouse will be released later this year. Back to Black stars Marisa Abela as Amy. The 26-year-old Brighton-born rising star’s previous work has included Barbie and BBC show Industry. Abela is the daughter of Jewish stage actor Caroline Gruber and filmmaker Angelo Abela.
Portraying Amy’s mother Janis is Eastenders star Juliet Cowan, while Eddie Marsan plays Amy’s father Mitch. Lesley Manville – recently Princess Margaret in The Crown is Amy’s grandma Cynthia.
