A Jewish community online hustings for Westminster residents is taking place next Tuesday, bringing together local election candidates from all the major parties for a lively discussion.

The event, organised by the London Jewish Forum in partnership with the Board of Deputies, and supported by the Jewish News, will be held online on 28 April at 7pm and is open to residents across Westminster.

Labour’s Adam Hug, Reform UK’s Alan Mendoza, Conservative Caroline Sargent, Liberal Democrat Martin Kersh, and a yet to be announced Green Party representative will take part in a moderated discussion covering topics including community safety, education, social care, and housing.

The event forms part of a wider series of hustings taking place across London ahead of the 7 May local elections.

Amanda Bowman from the London Jewish Forum said: “These hustings are about creating a practical conversation between candidates and Jewish residents at the borough level.

“Council decisions shape everyday life, and it is important that candidates understand how those decisions are experienced locally. Our aim is to support informed engagement ahead of the elections and to build relationships that continue afterwards.”

Alongside the hustings, the London Jewish Forum has produced a Guide to Jewish London for Councillors, which sets out how local authority decisions are experienced by Jewish communities and highlights key priorities for sustaining Jewish life in the capital.
