Wingate prove no match for Maidstone
Maidstone United returned to the Ryman League summit, with their seventh straight home win, in a comfortable display against Wingate and Finchley.

Wingate started the brighter and went close twice – Carl McCluskey volleyed an early chance wide, and David Knight fired a free-kick over the crossbar.
However, the hosts scored with their first chance as Steve Watt leapt highest to head home in the 15th minute from a long throw.
After a round of head-tennis, Alex Flisher fired a shot that arrowed over the bar, and Bobby Smith had to be alert to parry a Ben Greenhalgh shot wide as Maidstone gathered momentum.
Jack Parkinson scored a header five minutes before the break, once again the Blues undone by a simple long throw.
On the hour mark, Flisher scored the third goal to effectively seal the win. Maidstone broke quickly from inside their own half and Bodkin forced Smith to make a save with his legs. The ball fell to Greenhalgh whose effort was blocked by Marc Weatherstone but ultimately a cross found the unmarked Flisher who headed the ball past Smith.
Wingate substitute Rob Laney had a shot blocked by the goalkeeper Lee Worgan at the other end, but it was the hosts who continued to threaten. Bobby Smith saved from Bradley Jordan, and Steve Watt and Alex Brown both fired wide from dangerous positions.
The game petered out to its conclusion, but Tommy Tejan-Sie threatened in stoppage time with a curling shot destined for the top left corner, but Worgan caught it well to ensure his clean sheet.
