London LGBT choir to mark World AIDS Day in shul
An LGBT choir will sing at West London Synagogue for World AIDS Day again this year, following an “unforgettable” 2013 event featuring London Gay Men’s Chorus.
This year the Reform shul will host the acclaimed Diversity Choir, which is London’s original lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community chamber choir. It will be in association with JAT, formerly the Jewish AIDS Trust.
“I am delighted that we continue to mark World AIDS Day in such a meaningful way,” Senior Rabbi of WLS Baroness Julia Neuberger.
The choir sings a variety of styles, from medieval chants to contemporary 21st Century composers, and from folk, show tunes, and jazz, to popular music from the 50s to today.
The service and concert, on Sunday 30 November, will be followed by the seasonal LGBTQ buffet dinner, which Rabbi David Mitchell said he was especially looking forward to.
