Once summer is over and the new season begins it will be time to get involved in new projects. One that is guaranteed to make an impact is Our Freedom, a series of free workshops for 18-35-year-olds at JW3 which will culminate in an art exhibition.

Through nine sessions led by professional artists, participants will create a powerful memory piece – a personal installation that tells the story of someone affected by the Holocaust.

You could chose a member of your family or someone whose story has touched you. Using photos, audio, documents and personal objects you will have the opportunity to bring their story to life, culminating in a unique display, sound work, or something entirely of your own creation.

The finished pieces will form part of an exhibition at JW3, and there will also be a companion podcast series so that these remarkable stories can be shared with a wider audience.

This is a wonderful opportunity to help shape a public exhibition that explores how the Holocaust is remembered across generations, plus a chance to develop skills in storytelling, podcasting and exhibition design.

Workshops are free and held at JW3 on Monday evenings 6.30pm – 8.30pm, running from September through November. A meal will be provided at each session.
