A low cost US airline has launched an investigation after a Jewish passenger was allegedly served a meal defaced with antisemitic graffiti.

The image of the pre-packaged breakfast food, with ‘ZioNazi’ scrawled across it, was first shared on social media on 8th August by US based group StopAntisemitism. The flight details from the incident have yet to be confirmed.

It is the second time in a week that a kosher airplane meal was vandalised with antisemitic rhetoric.

Days earlier, a Jewish passenger on an Iberia flight from Argentina to Madrid was served a meal labelled with “Free Palestine”. YNet reported that other Jewish passengers on the same flight claimed trays were marked with the initials “FP”.

StopAntisemtism reports JetBlue said: “we have zero tolerance for hate, bias, or discrimination. We are deeply disturbed by the image circulating on social media and have launched an immediate investigation to determine which flight this may have occurred on.

“So far, no reports or complaints have been submitted by any customers. Nonetheless, our investigation is ongoing and we have notified the authorities to assist. If we determine that any individual associated with JetBlue or our catering partners was involved, we will take swift and appropriate action.”

In April 2024, YNet additionally reported that a Jewish passenger claimed his seat on a JetBlue flight from South Florida to Las Vegas was cancelled after he complained about a member of the cabin crew wearing a “Free Palestine” pin. He said the move was “blatant antisemitism.” The airline later apologised, saying it would no longer allow its employees to wear “personal” pins while working.

Jewish News has approached JetBlue for further comment.
