All grassroots football suspended by Maccabi GB

All grassroots football has been suspended by the community’s sporting body, Maccabi GB.
The news comes after the coronavirus outbreak decimated the national sporting schedule, with the suspension of the Premier League until April 3. The Football Association recommended “all grassroots football in England is postponed for the foreseeable future”.
Maccabi, which runs a range of grassroots activities for ages 4 to over 50s made the decision “to ask all staff to work from home with immediate effect and until further notice” following government guidance on tackling the virus.
Its chairman David Pinnick, said: “We established the necessary protocols for remote working last week as a precaution and sadly the current and unfolding situation leaves us little choice but to implement that action now.”
Adding that its fundraising breakfast with Lord Mann had been postponed and international events were being reviewed, Maccabi said: “These are challenging times for everyone and we hope that this unprecedented situation will subside and that we will soon all be able to resume normal life and activities.”
It is also “looking at a number of ways to keep the community fit and well both physically and mentally whilst at home.”
