Chanukah educational resource launched in memory of Rabbi Lord Sacks
An eight-part series called ‘Ceremony & Celebration’ includes writings from the late Jewish leader for each of the eight nights.
A new resource has been launched for Chanukah in memory of former Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks.
An eight-part series called ‘Ceremony & Celebration’ includes writings of the late Jewish leader, who died in November aged 72, for each of the eight nights.
It also includes games for children developed by his office together with Dr. Daniel Rose, educational consultant and content developer, as well as brain-teasers and fun facts about the festival of light.,
Rose said; “We have just marked the Shloshim [period of 30 days intense mourning] of Rabbi Sacks where much has been spoken about how we must collectively take forward his legacy and teachings.
“As part of the ‘Ceremony & Celebration’ series of educational resources, we are delighted to share with you the Chanukah edition. Written together with the Office of Rabbi Sacks, I hope this resource, which utilises Rabbi Sacks’ writings and teachings, is engaging for children of all ages and helps to do what he always felt was so important – to help the next generation cherish their Judaism and understand its relevance in today’s world.
“In what has been a dark year, may the Chanukah lights shine as bright as Rabbi Sacks’ legacy will for generations to come.”
