Community wishes Boris Johnson well as he enters intensive care
Chief Rabbi hopes the Prime Minister is 'strengthened and granted a swift and complete recovery' as he battles Covid-19
Communal groups wished Prime Minister Boris Johnson a full recovery after he was admitted to intensive care, following a worsening of his coronavirus symptoms.
The Prime Minister is understood to be conscious and was moved to intensive care at about 7pm on Monday as a precaution should he require a ventilator.
The 55-year-old had been admitted to St Thomas’ hospital in central London on Sunday evening after testing positive for Covid-19 10 days ago.
Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis tweeted: “May Almighty God bless our Prime Minister as he battles against Covid-19 in hospital. May he be strengthened and granted a swift and complete recovery, together with all those who continue to suffer at the hands of this terrible virus.”

The Board of Deputies president Marie van der Zyl said: “We have been sorry to learn that the Prime Minister’s condition has worsened & that he has been moved to intensive care. Our thoughts and prayers are with him & we wish him a refuah shelaima umehaira – a full and speedy recovery.”
On Sunday after the PM was admitted to hospital, senior Reform rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner said: “I wish @BorisJohnson and his partner, Carrie Symonds a refuah shelemah, a thorough recovery from the #Jewish communities. God bless.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared a picture of the two meeting in Downing Street, saying: “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the People of Israel pray for the speedy and full recovery of our friend British Prime Minister @BorisJohnson.”
President Reuven Rivlin said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with Prime Minister @BorisJohnson and his family, wishing him a full and speedy recovery.”
