Final stretch for Maccabi GB ‘Strengthening Through Sport’ £150k campaign
From fun-runs and interschool sports tournaments, Dancing Strictly London and specialised SEND programmes, charity works for a healthier, more connected British Jewish community
The fundraising clock is ticking down for the last hours of Maccabi GB’s 36-hour matched funding campaign.
Since its launch on Sunday 14 December, nearly four hundred supporters have donated more than £117k towards the £150k goal for Britain’s leading Jewish sports, health and wellbeing charity. The campaign concludes tonight at 10pm.
Dedicated to creating a healthy, active and proud Jewish community integrated within British society, Maccabi GB’s events include the popular Fun Run, the UK’s largest annual Jewish community event, which has supported more than 100 charities and raised over £2 million to date.
Maccabi GB also regularly hosts community sports events in basketball, pickleball, padel, tennis, netball and walking football.
In November, its inaugural Dancing Strictly London 2025 raised over £30,000 for 12 fantastic causes.
Working in conjunction with Lord Mann, the charity has delivered more than 130 antisemitism training workshops to over 3,000 people in professional sport.
Maccabi GB engages over 4,000 young people each year from 30 Jewish schools in 36 interschool sports tournaments and PE lessons. Maccabi GB also supports university students through JSoc netball and football tournaments across 11 campuses in partnership with UJS.
In 2026, the organisation will launch its new Sports Development Programme for 14–18-year-olds, helping young people build skills, knowledge and confidence to use sport as a tool to strengthen Jewish connection and support personal and professional growth.
Central to Maccabi GB’s mission is ensuring that Jewish sport is welcoming and accessible for all, irrespective of ability or disability, by creating inclusive mainstream sports events and specialised SEND programmes.
This commitment was showcased at the European Maccabi Youth Games 2024, where Maccabi GB delivered the Access Games, providing three days of team building, socialising and adapted sports for young people with SEND.
Its work continues to strengthen community cohesion by ensuring British Jews can participate in and enjoy sport without fear of antisemitism, while representing Jewish interests to national governing bodies and promoting a safer, more understanding sporting environment.
Every donation made during the campaign’s 36-hour window will be matched, doubling its impact and directly supporting programmes that strengthen individuals and the community as a whole.
