Israel and Morocco airlines strike codeshare deal as Casablanca flights begin
Royal Air Maroc and El Al will begin selling tickets for flights on routes operated by the other

Morocco’s national airline has joined several others to introduce regular direct flights between the northwest African country and Israel.
Royal Air Maroc will fly four times a week on a route connecting Casablanca to Tel Aviv.
The first flight was operated on Sunday and had a Moroccan business delegation on board.
Israeli airlines El Al and Arkia already operate flights from Tel Aviv to Marrakesh up to three times a week.
A new codeshare agreement signed between El Al and Royal Air Maroc, Israel and Morocco’s flag carriers respectively, means that the two airlines will sell tickets for one another’s flights.

The two airlines said their partnership would also provide connections between both airlines’ networks thanks to through passenger and baggage check-in facilities.
The new flights come after Israel and Morocco restored their relations under the 2020 Abraham Accords.
Israel’s ambassador in Morocco David Govrin tweeted that it was “heartening” to see advertisements for trips to Tel Aviv appearing on billboards in Casablanca.
