Jason Pearlman is stepping down as International Media Adviser to Israel’s President after completing a second term in the role, with fellow Brit Benjamin Lee appointed as his successor.

Pearlman, who previously also served as International Media Adviser to Israel’s 10th president, Reuven Rivlin, leaves the position after several years overseeing the presidency’s engagement with the international press during a period of heightened diplomatic and security scrutiny.

He will be replaced by Lee, a British national who joins the Office of the President from the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit. Lee previously served as Head of International Social Media and Head of the Strategy and Messaging Department, roles that placed him at the centre of Israel’s global communications efforts.

Announcing the transition, President Isaac Herzog paid tribute to Pearlman’s contribution while welcoming his successor.

“Jason has helped guide the Office of the President through perhaps Israel’s most challenging times with the international press,” Herzog said. “I am grateful for his tireless efforts to promote understanding of the work of the President of Israel and bring Israel’s story to millions around the world. We wish him success in his future endeavours. In welcoming Benjamin, we know we have a bright and keen new addition to our team who will contribute greatly to the work of the Office of the President.”

Lee’s appointment continues the President’s Office’s emphasis on strategic international engagement and digital messaging, including outreach to Jewish communities worldwide, at a time of sustained global attention on Israel.
