The father of the Manchester synagogue terror suspect praised the kidnappers of the 7 October Hamas atrocities, according to uncovered social media posts.

Faraj Al-Shamie, who named his son Jihad, appears to be a doctor in his Facebook profile picture, which describes him as a “digital creator”.

Posts from his account celebrate the events of 7 October 2023, calling Hamas kidnappers and terrorists “the men of God on earth” and “the real compass of men who are confident of their victory.”

He also appeared to urge the terrorists to “take good care of your weapons and aim them accurately”, says that the attacks by Hamas’s Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade “prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Israel will not remain”, and says “May God protect Palestine and its heroic people.”

Following Yom Kippur’s deadly attack, Faraj Al-Shamie signed a statement on behalf of the family, claiming the “terrorist attack targeting a Jewish synagogue” was a “profound shock” and their family both in the UK and abroad “strongly condemns this heinous act.”

Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, who is understood to have entered the UK as a young child and been granted British citizenship in 2006 when he was around the age of 16, was shot dead by police seven minutes after officers were alerted to the attack in Crumpsall, Greater Manchester, on Thursday morning.

Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, both died and three others remain in hospital with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph has revealed that Jihad Al-Shamie was on bail for alleged rape at the time of the terror attack. The alleged sexual assault is believed to have taken place earlier this year.
