London Lions claimed the first silverware of the season, while North London Raiders retained their Division One title, writes Jeremy Silverstone

Maccabi London Lions beat Scrabble to lift the Henry Swerner Cup, while Raiders made it back-t-back Division One titles…
HENRY SWERNER TROPHY:
The first trophy of the season in Masters football went to Maccabi London Lions A as they beat Scrabble 2-0 in a closely-contested Cup Final at Rowley Lane on Thursday evening.
A tight affair, the game seemed as if it could be heading to a penalty shoot-out, but late goals from Hadley Silver and Darren Dryer saw them to the win.
DIVISION ONE:
TABLE
North London Raiders retained their title as they beat off the challenge from second place rivals Chigwell. Dave Eden, Jonny Blain and Ben Simons all scored in its 3-2 win to give them an unassailable seven-point lead with just two games remaining. Paul Lenchner and Scott Levy replied for Chigwell.
Elsewhere, Brady A recorded a comfortable 6-0 win over HMH thanks to goals from Scott Ansher, Laurence Beck, Tim Frome, Adam Gishen, Jon Yantin and an own goal.
DIVISION TWO:
TABLE
The game billed as the title decider saw leaders EHRS up against Lions B, and despite a goalless first half, it was Lions who took the points with four second-half goals to claim a 4-0 win. Gideon Barnett scored twice, with Bradley Lazarus and a David Kyte penalty separating the teams.
Lions B are now four points behind EHRS with three games in hand, and the two teams meet again in this Thursday evening’s Nathan Horwitz MMFL Division 2 Cup Final (7.45pm at Rowley Lane) when Lions will be seeking to set themselves up for a league and cup double, as well as a cup double after winning the Henry Swerner Trophy last week.
Meanwhile, Hendon Harriers recorded just their third league victory of the season as Jon Nesbitt’s double, plus strikes from Adam Greenblatt and Andy Diamond saw them to a 4-3 win over Temple Fortune. Yali Mamouri, twice and Jeremy Fess replied for Fortune.
Elsewhere, two goals from Lloyd Nygate, coupled with strikes from Gary Adams and Adam Lennard, saw Glenthorne triumph 4-1 over Marshside to secure third place in the table; Darren Coon scored Marshside’s consolation.
