More than 100 community leaders share experience at trustees conference
The community's most experienced figures in charity and leadership pooled their ideas together at the landmark conference
More than 100 community leaders came together to focus on charitable goals and fundraising at a major conference this week.
Top community leaders gathered to network, share ideas and learn from leading experts in their fields in a series of six workshops.
Held on Wednesday evening at The Pentland Centre, the fourth annual Jewish Community Trustees’Conference saw workshops run by leaders from across the Jewish community.
Sessions were held on issues such as fundraising expectations for charity workers and offering skills to lay leaders. The event also featured a keynote talk by Debra Allcock Tyler, Chief Executive of the Directory of Social Change.
Debbie Fox, Co-Chair of Lead, Vice Chair of Jewish Care, Trustee of JAMI and Trustee of the Jewish Leadership Council, said that with “so many varied and successful organisations in our community”, it was important to share skills. She was pleased to witness “a real desire to learn and improve from everyone in the room”.
David Lazarus, chairman of the Jewish Volunteering Network, added, “I hope that all those who attended will be able to pass on the benefits to their organisations and the community as a whole.”
Organised by Lead, a division of the Jewish Leadership Council, in partnership with the Jewish Volunteering Network, the conference was the largest of its kind within the community.
