Some of the property industry’s brightest young talent came together in London on Monday to celebrate the inaugural Jewish News’ Property 40 Under 40 list.
The reception brought together those recognised on the list alongside the judges, sponsors and senior figures from across the property world.
The event was held at The Long House, an award-winning contemporary home in St John’s Wood, London, currently on the market by list co-sponsor DDRE Global for more than £15 million.
More than 250 nominations were received for the list, which recognises 40 of the most talented and influential Jewish professionals working across the property sector, spanning development, investment, agency, law, design and technology.
The final 40 were selected by an esteemed judging panel comprising some of the most senior and respected figures in the property industry.
Among them was Jacob Loftus, founder and chief executive of General Projects, who was voted number one on the list.
At 38, Loftus has led the acquisition and development of more than £2.5 billion of real estate, building a career combining commercial success with innovation, sustainability and social impact.
Jacob said: “I’m incredibly honoured, humbled, and grateful, to be recognised in this way amongst such an esteemed group of people. In truth, all success is a shared endeavour and I very much see this award as a reflection of the combined brilliant effort, energy and talent of the team I work with every day at General Projects.
“What I found most special about the 40 under 40 group is how much the individuals all seem to be cross pollinating with one another, and all very much involved in one another’s growth. This to me is one of the most special things about our community – it recognises the importance of supporting those around them, in both business and charitable endeavours. And hopefully this wonderful group will all continue to do the same as they progress through their careers and hopefully all become a new generation of leaders.”
Fellow listee Benji Weinberger of DDRE Global, who helped arrange the venue for the event, said: “It was a real privilege to be involved in bringing together such an impressive group of people from the Jewish News 40 under 40.
“The evening was all about building meaningful connections, sharing ideas and creating opportunities to cross-pollinate business within the community. Hopefully the start of many new collaborations and relationships.”
The Property 40 Under 40 was sponsored by DDRE Global, Fusion Group and Patron Capital while the reception was sponsored by The Harkalm Group, Mishcon de Reya and Sir Stuart Lipton.

Guests enjoyed an evening of networking and celebration, recognising both the achievements of those named on the list and the strength of the next generation of Jewish property leaders.
Judge Debbie Ingram said: “What an incredible amount of talent there was to choose from and it was such a pleasure learning about each and every one. It was extremely difficult to decide who made the final 40 and going forward we are all committed to finding more female property talent.”
The 40 Under 40 was dedicated to the memory of Nigel Henry, co-founder of Fusion Group, who served as both a sponsor and judge before he passed away earlier this year.
Nigel was widely respected across the property industry and was a passionate supporter of emerging talent. Despite being unwell, he remained determined to take part in the judging process and cast his votes.
Jewish News business and tech editor Candice Krieger, who created the list alongside co-chairs David Ereira and Andrew Gilbert, said: “The response to our inaugural Property 40 Under 40 exceeded all expectations. It was wonderful to bring everyone together and celebrate the list properly.
“We’re already looking ahead to the next one, when we hope to recognise an even broader and more diverse range of people from across the industry.”
Co-chair David Ereira said: “The list showed just how much talent and entrepreneurship there is within our community. It was a privilege to celebrate their achievements and recognise the next generation of leaders shaping the property industry.”
