Raisman inspires US gymnasts to team event win
Jewish star captains American side as they retain their Olympic title.
Aly Raisman captained the American artisitc gymnastic team to an emphatic win in the women’s team competition on Tuesday evening.
Finishing 8.2 points clear of second-place Russia, Raisman performed in the vault competition, balance beam and floor exercise.
The win means the Americans retain the title they won in London four years ago, while Raisman has also qualified for the finals of the Women’s individual all-around – which takes place on Thursday evening – though missed out on qualifying for the final of the balance beam event.
