A major missile attack against Israel by Iran and its proxies in the Middle East is imminent, according to a report published by Bloomberg.

The attacks could involve drones and missiles on government and military sites in Israel, according to the report, citing U.S. and Israeli intelligence assessments. The attack is a matter of when and not if, according to one of the sources.

Israel has been on high alert across the country since an alleged Israeli airstrike killed a top IRGC commander in Damascus last Monday.

President Biden seemed to confirm the report by Bloomberg on Wednesday, saying that Iran is threatening to launch a “significant attack on Israel.”

“As I told Prime Minister Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel’s security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad. Let me say it again, ironclad. We’re going to do all we can to protect Israel’s security,” he said.

Israel also issued its own warning to Iran, after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei repeated his threat on Wednesday, saying the the “evil regime  (Israel) made a mistake and must be punished, and it shall be.”

Defence Minister Yoav Gallant stated that the response to an attack on Israel would be “very, very effective, very powerful.”

“One of the things we excel at over the years is that the enemy never knows what surprises we are preparing for it… we will know how to react very quickly with a decisive offensive action against the territory of whoever attacks our territory, no matter where it is, in the entire Middle East. We have this ability.”

Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz also threatened Iran, saying: “If Iran attacks from its territory, Israel will react and attack in Iran.”

Last week, Israelis in central Israel reported widespread GPS disruptions on applications like Waze, showing drivers they were in Cairo and Beirut instead of Tel Aviv.

Haaretz reported that the IDF is deliberately disrupting the GPS systems in preparation for a drone attack on Israel.
