Rex Factor! Jonathan Ross crowns Jewish dogs of the year
Lili and Lola were named as joint winners, beating 20 other pets in the contest run by Jewish Blind and Disabled
When TV personality Jonathan Ross couldn’t choose the cutest pet in a not-so-serious Jewish charity competition last week, he chose two.
Lili and Lola, both dogs, were named joint winners by Jewish Blind & Disabled (JBD) which has been adding ‘PETrons’ to its list of patrons.
JBD supporter Ross was tasked with choosing which entry “raised the biggest smile,” but couldn’t decide between three year old Lola, who lives in West Kensington with owners Alex Caplan and James Cahill, and two year old Lili, who lives in Finchley with Sara and Doron Jacobs.
“It was very difficult to pick a winner, as every photo made me smile,” said the TV and radio star. “In the end, I just couldn’t choose between Lili and Lola so decided they should share the prize.”
More than 20 pets were entered into the contest, which was designed to showcase how pets can become patrons of the charity for £5 per month.
JBD chief executive Hazel Kaye said: “We had a lot of fun looking at all the entertaining photos sent in. Every PETron helps provide a life of independence, dignity and choice for physically disabled or vision impaired adults.”
