Zoom Rockman's film honours the Holocaust
Offered by Chaiflicks, Survivor is a touching animated film by UK animator Zoom Rockman, created in commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Based on the true story of Holocaust survivor Ivor Perl, the film recounts his childhood in Hungary, where he was born in 1932. At just 12 years old, Ivor was deported first to a Jewish ghetto and then to the concentration camps. Of a family of nine, only Ivor and his older brother Alec survived the war.
Created with sensitivity and grounded in extensive historical research, this delicate animated film stays true to Ivor’s testimony, bringing his story to the screen with clarity, compassion, and emotional restraint. Suitable for all ages, it offers a powerful way to remember, reflect, and bear witness — from home.
