Addressing guests, CEO Olivia Marks-Woldman, said: “Holocaust Memorial Day exists so that everyone, regardless of background, can learn about the horrors of the Holocaust and where persecution can lead.”

She added that the it marked “a call to action for all of us – the generation who have the privilege of hearing survivors, of carrying memory forward. It is we, who must build the bridge between memory and action, between history and hope for the future” noting “that responsibility has felt especially urgent this year as antisemitism has not only increased, but also led to violence in the UK and around the world”.
