Head of Hertsmere Jewish Primary School quits for ‘personal reasons’
Steven Isaacs steps aside after eight years in the role, as the school thanks him for his 'hard work and dedication'
The headteacher of Hertsmere Jewish Primary School (HJPS) has resigned for ‘personal reasons’, on the last day before half term.
In a letter to parents, Steven Isaacs stepped down with immediate effect after eight years in the role.
Chair of governors Mr Harris wrote in an email on Friday morning, that the head “has decided that for personal reasons the time has come for him to leave the school as of today”, thanking him “for his hard work and dedication” during his tenure.
The letter includes a message from Mr Isaacs, who was appointed in March 2010. He says he “thoroughly enjoyed my tenure at HJPS and would like to thank the staff, parents, governors, pupils and stakeholders for all their support.
“I hope that this wonderful school will continue to strive for academic excellence in all disciplines and will remain a beacon school in Jewish education and more generally within Hertfordshire.”
Current Deputy Headteacher, Mrs Rita Alak-Levi, will become the Acting Head following the sudden resignation, and the school says its governing body ill commence the recruitment for a new permenant replacement immediately.
