Palestinian Authority hits out at Trump’s ‘Zionist’ Middle East policies
PA says US administration isn't serious about peace and negotiations, and claims it tries to play the world for fools
The Palestinian Authority has attacked the US administration, saying its Middle East policies were “Zionist par excellence.”
In a statement issued by its Foreign Affairs Ministry in Ramallah, it said: “There’s no limit to the US officials’ attempt to play the world for fools.”
Made in response to remarks from US State Department spokeswoman Heather Ann Nauert, who was quoted by the Palestinian daily Al-Quds, as saying the two-state solution needs direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, she also said the US administration has a team that’s working to bring the two sides together.
However, the PA accused the US spokeswoman of “covering up” for the American position, which is “completely biased in favour of the occupation and its policies,” by employing “glazed, recycled and unserious rhetoric about peace and negotiations.”
The PA statement also accused US senior officials of Trump’s administration, of “blindly endorsing” Israel’s policies of Israel, while attempting to mislead international public opinion by heaping praise on Israel and its capabilities and relations.
