Watch: Eulogies at stonesetting for Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks
Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, Dayan Ivan Binstock and Lady Elaine Sacks pay respects to the former chief rabbi
The stonesetting for Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks took place on Monday at Bushey New Cemetery, attended by the Israeli ambassador and with eulogies delivered by Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, Dayan Ivan Binstock and Lady Elaine Sacks.
Referring to Sacks as his “illustrious predecessor”, Mirvis said: “He was a great leader. He led us in action. He passed away but he continues to …guide us and to inspire us”.
Binstock said the former Chief Rabbi “bestrode the Jewish and non-Jewish world like a colossus” and hailed his “superb clarity and international reach”.
