Fauda creators to make movie of 7 October attacks
Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz will tell the story of Israeli general Noam Tibon, who rescued his family from Hamas during the massacre
The team behind the hit Israeli TV series Fauda are set to create new feature film called ‘October 7th’, detailing the Hamas attacks.
The movie will reportedly focus on retired Israeli general Noam Tibon, who rescued his family on that fateful day, which left close to 1,200 Israeli civilians dead.
“When faced with the horrors, Noam immediately charged into danger to protect his family,” Fauda creators Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz told Deadline.
“His gripping story transcends any religion, country, or conflict – it beautifully reflects the sacrifices we are willing to make for those we love. We are proud to help amplify Noam’s bravery and provide some hope and inspiration during these difficult times.”
For Leviathan Productions, enlisting the ‘Fauda’ creators provides an opportunity to capture that searing national trauma and heroism through the prism of one man’s selfless actions to protect his family at all costs. Noam and his son Amir Tibon will serve as consultants on the project.
Fauda has been widely praised for its nuanced exploration of the Israeli-Arab conflict over four acclaimed Netflix seasons. In addition to Fauda, Issacharoff and Raz previously teamed on ‘Ghosts of Beirut’ for Showtime and Netflix’s ‘Hit & Run’.
Founded by author Josh Foer, Leviathan is an independent studio focused on developing content exploring Jewish history, folklore, and stories about Israel and its conflicts. Their upcoming slate includes remakes of the French thriller ‘The Man in the Basement’ and an adaptation of Victoria Saker Woeste’s ‘Henry Ford’s War on Jews’.
